Three Tiers, One Standard

TIER I
Certified Whisky Taster (CWT)
Foundational sensory literacy and production knowledge. Entry point for hospitality staff and enthusiasts.
8 Weeks
TIER II
Certified Spirits Sommelier (CSS)
Full regional comparative tasting, service protocol, and a proctored blind-tasting examination.
14 Weeks
TIER III
Master Cask Adjudicator (MCA)
Cask-strength evaluation, valuation methodology, and a capstone panel assessment before senior examiners.

Do I need hospitality experience to enroll?+

No. Tier I is designed for enthusiasts and career-changers alike — no prior trade experience is required, only a genuine interest in spirits.

How is the practicum graded?+

Each module closes with a proctored blind-tasting or written practicum, scored by two independent examiners against a fixed rubric.

Is the certification recognised internationally?+

Can I move directly to Tier II?+

Tier II requires a passed Tier I practicum or equivalent documented trade experience, reviewed case-by-case by our admissions panel.
